Choose the Pen tool and draw a shape as you see below.
2 Make a gradient similar to the one below and apply it to the shape.
3 Make the actual branch.
4 Choose the shape and move into place at the bottom of the branch.
5 Duplicate the shape, reduce its size, and move it to the top.
6 Duplicate that shape and rotate it. Place it at the top of the branch.
7 Choose the two leaves on the side.
8 Set Blending Options.

Make the blend. Click Expand.
10 Using the Reflection tool make a copy. Move the set of shapes into place. Group the entire branch.
11 Apply the Pencil brush to the branch.
